Introducing Lore: The Next Chapter of the Knowledge Company

May 2026 · PantheonAI

There’s a question we’ve been sitting with since day one here at Pantheon. Where does knowledge actually live?

At the start, the answer we kept coming back to was books. Before the internet, books were the most concentrated, most portable, most underutilized vessels of human understanding ever invented. Since the development of the printing press, the format was seldom questioned. We decided to question it when we built Talking Books. We aimed to give us readers the ability to have real conversations with the ideas within a text. The thinking of an author, the logic of an argument, and the context of the passage could now be turned into active dialogue.

Working on Talking Books led us somewhere we had little business going into.

It’s called context.

For the majority of technology at our disposal, knowledge has always existed in a separate place, and the people who need it the most are always somewhere else, having to waste hours diverting attention and resources to chatbot tabs and youtube tutorials. People lose hours to this every single day. We realize just how much productivity breaks when context-switching. Until now, we’ve all just accepted it as the price of working with modern systems.

We don’t believe it has to be.

What Lore Is

Today, the Knowledge Company of California is launching Lore.

Lore is a Mac companion that watches, listens, explains, and points at exactly what matters.

Lore actively sees your screen. It contextualizes what you’re looking at and what you’re trying to do by drawing on local memory. And it’s there with you while you work. Not in a chat window that you have to switch to.

Lore bridges the gap of context. In essence, the intelligence has to come to you rather than you to it.

Think about what changes in workflows when AI already knows your context. You’ll never have to explain. You’ll never have to paste screenshots. And you certainly won’t have to attach countless pdfs and slides to study.

Beta Launch, Starting Now

We’re thrilled to announce that Lore is launching into private beta soon for MacOS users.

We’re onboarding users in cohorts. We’re excited to learn alongside our users. We want our product to be shaped by real workflows, real frustrations, and real use cases rather than just our assumptions.

If you want in, sign up at lore.thepantheonai.com. We’ll be reaching out to beta users in waves. and we’ll want to know what you’re working on and how you use Lore.

Best, - The PantheonAI Team.
